WB, PMU, supervising engineer, and Contractor inspecting the construction of the Mwache Main Dam.

The Mwache Dam Project Management Unit (PMU), led by Dam Engineer Eng. Kiprotich Tireito, on hosted the World Bank team led by Task Team Leader (TTL) Mr. Pieter Waalewijn, a Senior Water Resources Management and Irrigation Specialist at the World Bank Group.

The visit marked the first day of the World Bank Implementation Support Mission, which provides an opportunity to assess project progress, review critical works, and engage with the project implementation teams.

During the site visit, the team inspected key construction areas, including the Main Dam, Fulugani Primary School, Lower Check Dam (LCD), and Kasemeni Police Post, assessing progress and implementation on the ground.

The World Bank support mission is critical to the successful implementation of the Mwache Dam Project, providing technical oversight, progress assessment, and an opportunity to identify and address key issues as the project advances towards completion.

Present during the inspection were: rep from Coast Water Works Development Agency, Treasury, Water Resources Authority, WomanKind Kenya, PMU, Supervising Engineers, Kwale County Government, Contractor, among others.
