Mwache Dam Project Coordinator, Eng. Simon Kibachio, today led the World Bank team, led by Pieter Waalewijn, Senior Water Resources Management and Irrigation Specialist and Task Team Leader (TTL), alongside the Supervising Engineer, Contractor, CWWDA and project employees, in a final inspection of the completed Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC) placement at the Main Dam.

The inspection was followed by a small celebration to mark the successful completion of RCC placement, a major step in the construction of the Main Dam. The RCC placement commenced on 21 March 2025 and has now been completed 27th Aug 2026, with the remaining concrete works primarily

The completion of RCC placement marks a significant achievement for the Mwache Dam Project and brings the project closer to the planned 1 October 2026 start of dam impoundment, when water storage is expected to begin.

As the project enters this important phase, the teams remain focused on completing the remaining works and ensuring the dam is ready for safe and successful impoundment.
