Bofu Dam FFS and FLID memebers celebrating success

Bofu Dam Farmers Field School (FFS) and FLID members are celebrating a successful harvest as they begin harvesting kales, marking a significant boost to their household incomes.

Supported by the Kwale County Government and the Mwache Dam Project, the farmers are cultivating a variety of crops as part of a sustainable livelihood initiative to reduce dependence on charcoal burning.

Beyond improving food security and increasing earnings, the initiative promotes climate-smart agriculture that protects the Mwache Catchment from soil erosion, thereby reducing siltation and safeguarding the Main Dam reservoir for a sustainable water supply.
