A farmer from Mwachiga WRUA is enjoying an impressive maize harvest, thanks to the well-maintained terraces constructed under Call 1 (2024) through the Mwache Catchment Restoration Programme in collaboration with the Water Resources Authority. The properly maintained soil conservation structures have helped reduce soil erosion, improve moisture retention, and enhance crop productivity.
The remarkable harvest was witnessed by the incoming Director of the Athi Basin, highlighting the positive impact of sustainable land management practices in improving livelihoods while protecting the Mwache Catchment and reducing siltation into the Mwache Dam reservoir.

One clear message: regardless of the climate, it is possible to achieve a successful harvest through sustainable and climate-smart farming.
